Trying to Prove Something?

Have one or more of these questions and statements flooded your mind? Have you tried to prove yourself or your worth over and over again to a family member, friend, or co-worker? Have you gotten to the point where you are tired of comparing yourself to other individuals?

If you are like me, you have struggled at one time or another with comparison, with always trying to prove yourself and measure up to a particular standard. [Side note-who even sets this crazy, unattainable standard we are all trying to measure up to?!] It weighs on you so heavily because you know that you will never be like that Instagram mom who always has her life together or that newly married 21-year-old bride who only had to date one guy for her “happily ever after.” It’s crippling isn’t it-always trying to measure up?

In her book Nothing to Prove, Jennie Allen shares with her readers her own personal struggles and fears of proving herself. Jennie speaks transparently as she would to a friend over a coffee date. Confidently, she speaks that we can stop comparing ourself because Jesus is enough…Through Him we have absolutely nothing to prove! As you and I stop proving ourself, we can truly enjoy living this “more than enough” life that God has given us!!

Still have something to prove? Pick up your copy of Nothing to Prove…You’ll be glad you did!
